Overview
Tana Web Clipper is a Chrome extension designed with a single purpose: to help users save web content (bookmarks, articles, screenshots, and selected text) directly to their Tana workspace. This privacy policy explains how the extension handles user data and protects user privacy.
Single Purpose Statement
The sole purpose of Tana Web Clipper is to enable users to save web content from any webpage directly to their personal Tana workspace through the official Tana API.
Data Collection and Usage
What Data We Collect
- User Configuration Data: Tana API token, target node ID, and optional OpenAI API key
- Web Content: Page titles, URLs, selected text, article content, and screenshots (only when explicitly requested by the user)
- Temporary Processing Data: Content extracted from webpages for the purpose of saving to Tana
What Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal browsing history
- Data from websites not explicitly clipped
- User identity information
- Analytics or tracking data
- Any data beyond what's necessary for the clipping functionality
How We Use Your Data
- API Credentials: Stored locally in Chrome's secure storage to authenticate with Tana and OpenAI APIs
- Web Content: Processed and transmitted only to save selected content to your Tana workspace
- No Third-Party Sharing: Your data is never shared with any third parties except the APIs you configure (Tana and optionally OpenAI)
